Reviews Outdoors Gear Guide: My Favorite Fly Fishing Product

Reviews Outdoors Gear Guide: My Favorite Fly Fishing Product : I've been lucky enough to test some pretty amazing fly fishing and outdoors products over the past few years.

So when the holiday season rolls around, everyone always asks what my favorite product review has been. And I have the same answer every year: all of them.

I don't have one favorite, but looking back through the archives I was able to come up with a top 10 (in no particular order). So if you still haven't figured out that perfect Christmas gift for the angler who has everything, you can't go wrong with a pick from this list:
his lea
therman has everything, including a hook sharpener, 3-inch fillet knife, scissors, fish scaler and dozens of other tools you'll see on the jump.
Cloudveil Hellroaring Jacket: The Versatile Cloudveil Hellroaring Jacket, which is soft shell and water resistent, was so awesome I had to get one for my sister, and she doesn't even fly fish. But she's outside a lot in the garden, and it's must-have for anyone (male or female) who spends a lot of time outdoors.
Fishpond Cloudburst Gear Bag: By far the best travel bag for keeping your gear safe while traveling.
GoPro Hero Waterproof Digital Camera: Now I said I don't have one favorite, but the GoPro is right there at the top of the list. This camera is the first digital unit I've seen that takes decent photos under water thanks to its intuitive plastic housing and fish-eye lense.

Omega Amphibian Navigator Float Tube Fins: I love my float tube more than anything, which you'll read about later, but it would be miserable kicking around in that thing without Omega Amphibian Navigator Fins.
MTI Adventurewear Dorado PFD: When I'm not float tubing, I'm probably kayaking, and I never 'yak without my MTI Adventurewear Dorado PFD. It's safe as any PFD on the market and also has plenty of storage for all your gear.
Fishpond's Deep Creek Chest Pack: The Fishpond Deep Creek chest pack is the perfect size and provides easy access to all your in-between gear, all while keeping your gear high and dry.
Redington's Crosswater Youth Outfit: I love most all of Redington's fly fishing gear, but this rod-and-reel combo caught my eye because it's one of those products that fills a real need in this industry and helps our children get interested in the sport.
White River Float Tube: Here's my favorite little float tube. It's inexpensive, but it's also easy to travel with and even easier to set up. White River's open front float tube is also easy to get in and out of, which can be tricky when you're wearing fins and carrying all that fly gear.
Ocean Kayak Prowler 15 Angler Edition: But my favorite fishing vessel has to be my Ocean Kayak Prowler 15 Angler Edition kayak, one of the first sit-on-top kayaks made specifically for fishermen. It's outdated and beatup, but I'd take it over any of today's fishing-specific models any day.
