Capt. Freddy Coles In Florida passes away
Capt. Freddy Coles, the legendary bottom fishing skipper who ran several boats, culminating with his Freddy C. from Leonardo, has passed away in Florida at the age of 65. A memorial service is being held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at John Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown.
Mackerel were a bit fussier today in the Mud Hole, but Capt. Jimmy Elliott said his anglers on Miss Belmar Princess still caught lots of medium and large mackerel during long drifts -- despite the northwest wind and cold.
It's last call for the free N.Y. Boat Show tickets offered by Rich Johnson of the Fishing Line TV and radio show. Johnson has sent out out quite a few of those $12 tickets to readers who sent a stamped, self-addressed business envelope as specified in this blog. However, others aren't getting tickets because they forgot to include the stamped envelope or used a smaller envelope that won't hold the tickets. Johnson expects he'll be out of tickets by Friday.
