The different types of goldfish display a startling variation of colors, sizes, fin characteristics and unique body shapes. Below are descriptions of the various types of goldfish and how they look.
Black Moor: With telescope eyes, long flowing fins and deep bronze and black colors the black moor is also known as the popeye and the dragon eye.
Bubble Eye: Distinguished by large air sacs located just under the eye and light gold to dark orange.
Celestial Eye: Named for the large telescopic eyes which are always looking up the celestial eye is also famous for its double-tail and streamlined body shape.
Comet: One of the most popular of all pet goldfish with soft fanned forked tail and body fins and shimmering golden, white and mixed colors

Common: Also known as the hibuna, this plain but hardy goldfish is extremely social and very popular as a long time aquarium pet.
Fantail: Famous for exceptionally long waving tail fins, large shimmering scales, a characteristic oval body shape and brilliant orange and gold colors
Lionhead: A portly type of goldfish with a rotund body shape, small tail and body fins, white and gold colors and adorable facial features.
Oranda: A very unique type of goldfish with a bright red fleshy hood over the head and transparent fins

Panda Moor: A black and white goldfish with large fan fins, a bubble shaped body and eyes which protrude out from each side of the head.
Pearlscale: Named for raised white dotted scales which cover the body, the pearlscale has a round shape and thin fan fins
