The Fulton Fish Market moved to Hunts Point in 2005. Today Mr. Fagin’s building is a co-op, and the busiest time at Jeremy’s is happy hour.
“If you look at the rate of change from the late 1970s to today,” he said, “it was very slow for many years until the fish market left, when it became a dramatic, steep curve.” In 2000 Mr. Fagin became part of that change: A musician, conductor and composer, he joined with other tenants to buy the old five-story factory, which is at 274 Water Street between Peck Slip and Dover Street.
