Fishing Report 12/22/10 Mosquito Lagoon :
Many of these fish have measured up to nearly sixteen inches in length. Mangrove snapper have also been hitting live shrimp when fished near the jetties at the port. During an outgoing tide, many of these fish have been brought boat side while using light tackle. The average length of the fish that were caught has been the minimum keeper length of ten inches,” reports Capt. Keith Mixon of Mixin’ Work With Play Fishing Charters. (321-212-8484).
“Black drum have been feeding on cut mullet throughout the Haulover Canal during mid-day. When targeting these fish, I suggest using both 15 lb test braided line and monofilament leader. For terminal tackle, a circle hook is probably your best bet. The average weight of these fish has been 2-3 lbs with the largest weighing up to 15 lbs,” Mixon said.
