Indonesian Police Claim Succes Throghtout Handling Criminal Act 2010

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police claimed a number of successes throughout 2010. Police have handled a number of criminal acts, such as gambling, narcotics, transnational crime, terrorism, crimes against state property, or the mafia law.

National Police Chief Gen. (Pol) Pradopo East at Police Headquarters on Wednesday (29/12/2010), said the police completed 231 of 277 corruption cases during the year 2010. Total state losses could be rescued by U.S. $ 339.6 billion of total losses of Rp 543.9 billion.

In the case of illegal logging crimes, said Chief of Police, National Police has handled as many as 1474 cases in 2010. While the crime of illegal fishing revealed as many as 64 cases, 260 cases of illegal mining, and environmental crime by 31 cases. Not clear how the case has been resolved.

In transnational crime, added Chief of Police, police have revealed as many as 18,486 drug cases in 2010. The criminal acts of terrorism, as many as 583 terrorist suspects arrested, and 55 died. Of 583 suspects, 388 terrorists have been sentenced, 56 in the trial process, and 28 in the investigation.

"In the crime of human trafficking, there were 125 cases in 2010. Handling the legal mafia reached 11 cases. Six cases of whom had been convicted and five are still in the trial process," said Chief of Police....
