There were a total of three emotion packed days and abundant fishing with a total of 26 released marlin and 338 released sailfish and good sized mahi-mahi. The event was a record tournament for El Salvador as the fishing was incredible and there were over 30 participants national and foreign.

It all started the morning of November 25th at 5:30am, the boats received the green light and they were off to the blue waters with the sole objective of finding the best spots in territorial waters.
A few hours had passed when the Guatemalan yacht `Rum Line´ reported the first released sailfish. Immediately following the initial report the Pitta brothers radioed first marlin of the tournament on the line, one that unfortunately could not be landed. These initial reports were just the opening scene to a very productive journey of fishing for the days to come. In this manner the fishing continued with many reports of successfully released sailfish until at 9:15am the `Intrepid´ reported the first released marlin of the day. In conclusion for the first day of fishing, the totals for the first day were 11 released marlin and 119 released sailfish. A very tight competition between boats like `Intrepid,´ `Fortuna II,´ `Rum Line,´ `Rum Runner´ and the `White Marlin´ of the Sanchez bros. The production on the second day did not lag behind. There were totals of 22 marlin and 229 sailfish and unfortunately the day saw more marlin action on the waters but many got away. As Mauricio sat there analyzing each video at the end of day three, It was impressive to see the quality of the game fish found in Salvadoran waters, and an invitation goes out to fishermen and travelers to make El Salvador their next stop on their fishing agenda.
