To continueChristmas Island searching

To continueChristmas Island searching: Authorities are yet to announce whether emergency teams will continue the search and recovery operation today for survivors of the Christmas Island boat tragedy.

The official death toll stands at 30 after a wooden fishing boat carrying as many as 100 asylum seekers smashed into the island's Rocky Point on Wednesday morning in high seas.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard says there's little chance any more people will be found alive.
She says arrangements are being made for a memorial service to be held tomorrow or Monday to recognise the lives lost and allow people to grieve.
Counselling has been offered to Christmas Island residents who took part in the rescue or witnessed the accident.

Ms Gillard says a shopfront has been established on the island with professional counsellors to provide immediate assistance to community members who feel they need their help.
