Sea World - are the trainers back in the water yet?... 2011

This may be a silly question but, does anyone know how many orcas is there ate the Shamu show? Or is Shamu the only one???? Whe I wnet the last time there was two (moter and daugher) but I remember the daughter went somewhere else later on. Actually, I think it was Tenerife.

I really dont understand why, after such a long time since it happened, the show hasnt gone back to how it was, unless of course there are issues about that particular whale and safety around her.

But as an animal lover who understand's animals have their animal instincts...wouldn making this longer than neccesary (I mean keeping aways from the water) increase the whales's natural instict and become more agressive when in concatc with humans again?

I am no expert at all, but I remember being at the Tenerife's show three days after the fatal accident in December 2009, and after a minute of silence they did explained to the audience that the whale NEEDS to be in inmidiate conctac with other trainers after an "accident", and keep a constant physical interaction with them, or else she would get closer to develop her animal self/instincs and become more dangerous to be around humas again.....

It made sense to us at the time...We saw Believe a couple of weeks ago and the trainers didn't get in the water. Definitely not the show it used to be. We loved it last year, but this year we much preferred Blue Horizons. I can understand the reasons for it, but I can't imagine the trainers are too happy. I get the impression it's a management policy or insurance driven. I may be wrong of course!!Read More ...
