Misrisou

NORFORK: 40 degrees, clear, 10 feet low. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: bass good on curly-tail grubs along steep banks, bluff banks; stripers fair on Rattlin’ Rogues at night along the banks.

TANEYCOMO: 45 degrees, clear, sporadic power generation; no power generation two of last four days. Outlook: Lilley’s Landing reports: trout good on white jigs, Little Cleos, other silver lures in the Trophy Area and on Gulp Eggs, night crawlers, minnows below Fall Creek. Fly fishing has been good in the afternoons on No. 12 gray scuds, San Juan worms and soft hackles.

JAMES A. REED: 33 degrees, clear, full pool. Variable ice. Use caution. Outlook: Missouri Department of Conservation reports: trout fair to good on salmon eggs, jigs through the ice on Plover and Coot lakes.


LONGVIEW: 33 degrees, 12-inch clarity, near normal. Ice-covered. Outlook: Longview Lake Marina reports: crappies poor to fair (a few fish are being caught at the marina, but pressure has been light).

STOCKTON: 36 degrees, clear, 3 feet low. Lake is ice-covered. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: all species poor.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 37 degrees, clear, 5 feet low. Partly ice-covered. Ramps are inaccessible. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: all species poor.

TABLE ROCK: 40 degrees, clear, 9 feet low. Most ramps are iced-in. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: Very low fishing pressure. No report.

POMME DE TERRE: 34 degrees, clear, 3 1/2 feet low. Ice-covered. Most boat ramps inaccessible. Outlook: Nemo Landing reports: all species poor.

GLEN ELDER: 33 degrees, clear, 2 feet low. Ice is 11 inches thick. Outlook: Little Bait Shop reports: crappies, white bass good early and late on jigs through the ice in 12 feet of water off Boler Point.

MELVERN: 33 degrees, clear, 1 1/2 feet low. Lake is completely ice-covered. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: crappies fair on spoons in 20 feet of water off the marina dock and in the heated dock.

MILFORD: 33 degrees, clear, 2 feet low. Ice on lake. Outlook: Clem’s Corner reports: all species poor.

CLINTON: 33 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Ice on the lake. Outlook: Clinton Lake Marina reports: all species poor.

EL DORADO: Lake is completely ice-covered. Outlook: Wildlife and Parks reports: all species poor.

In the midst of a miserable winter, there has been one bright spot. The ice fishing at Glen Elder Lake has been good. Fishermen have been catching crappies and white bass on jigs and jigging spoons through the ice off points lately. The best times to go? Either early in the morning or toward dusk.
