Nationally known instructors will cover all aspects of the sport, including equipment, flies, casting and fishing techniques. It's a good opportunity to get started in the sport, or to brush up on rusty skills.

Back this year is the mascot contest. Each team will bring its own mascot and fans will vote for their favorite. The winner will be announced during the second game break, before the team spirit dance party. All fans are invited to wear their best team-spirit gear. There will be prizes for the best team spirit and a "shoot the hoop" contest will take place during the first game break.

Advance tickets cost $3 and will be available at the main offices in each building Feb. 28 through March 4. Tickets at the door will be $4; youths who are not yet in school are free.

United Way donations

Cornell University will recognize United Way of Tompkins County (UWTC) on Saturday. The first event will be the Cornell women's hockey game vs. Yale at 4 p.m. at Lynah Rink.

At 7 p.m., the Cornell men's basketball team will face Princeton at Newman Arena. Students serving as UWTC campaign ambassadors will be presenting a check representing the gifts made to date from the Cornell community to James Brown, President of UWTC, and Alan and Nancy Pedersen, UWTC Campaign co-chairs.

Cornell has exceeded its 2010-11 UWTC campaign goal of $790,000.
