Fresh start for SWFL's largest freshwater lake

IMMOKALEE: Collier County would see a boost in tourism. Saturday, Southwest Florida celebrated the final restoration of it's largest freshwater lake, Lake Trafford in Immokalee. For 15 years, the lake was plagued by muck. But the $21.3 million dollar effort dredged the much out from the bottom of the lake. Now, the lake is clear and native fish and wildlife are returning. That is a good sign for Ski Olesky's marina.

" I'm looking forward to business improving and the lake improving more. Fishing is coming along great. The Crappie fishing at this time is fantastic," Olesky said.

While fishing is allowed at the lake, if anglers catch any bass smaller than 18 inches, they have to throw them back into the water.
