Best fish market to visit around Muscat Oman 2011
We are staying in Muscat for a few days. One of these days we want to visit a fish market. After some research we found out we can visit fish markets in Mutrah, As Seeb and Barka.
The markets of As Seeb and Barka schould be on the beach which would be more special. Does anybody has some recomondations?
And what's the best time to visit these fish markets? Can we also go there on friday?

As a local, I personally prefer the fish market in Muttrah. Friday Morning is good to visit the market. They start early, 8 AM - 11 AM will be peak time to see the market full. It will wind down after that and probably close at aroung 12:15 for friday prayers.
Fish market in Muttrah is next to the port, and you can have a nice walk to Muttrah market from there. I am not sure if the Souq is open in the morning, but I doubt it.....read more
