The Wasatch Fly Tying and Fly Fishing expo is enjoyable for the whole family


Bring your family and experience the Wasatch fly fishing expo at the Salt Palace Convention Center in down town Salt Lake City. The fly fishing expo will be open on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 12pm-6pm with cocktail hour from 5:30pm-6:30pm and a banquet 6:30pm where 14 exciting adventures will be auctioned for interested participants. The on Saturday, April 2, 2011 hours are 8am-5pm. Adult admission is only $1.00 and children under 17 are free. It’s a great way to get everyone out of the house for an affordable price.

The Wasatch fly fishing expo has something for everyone to appreciate. This event will offer a variety of fly fishing and fly tying products for attendants to browse, compare or purchase. A list of product vendors is available at wasatchexpo.com/vendors.html.

The Wasatch fly casting competition will be held during the expo on Friday and Saturday. The contest will be sponsored by Fishwest and directed by The Bonneville Fly Fishers, who are the Federation of Fly Fishers utah chapter. Follow the link for rules and scoring guidelines.


You may be interested in taking advantage of the 25 different workshops that are taught by some of the most knowledgeable instructors in fly fishing. The workshops have been declared to be very affordable this year and a number of them are free. The classes fill up fast so register by day end March 28th. The event will host locals who will be demonstrating their skills in tying flies. You will appreciate the patience and attention to detail that is required to tie a fly. Soak up some tips and tricks that each individual may have to offer and gather information that may help you to get started tying your own flies.
