"Hi this is Mark the Shark in Miami Beach, Florida from marktheshark.com. On this clip I'm going to show you how to tie drop weights on a fishing line hook. What we want to do is you have got your hook here. We want to take off about 20 feet of line and then we'll get down at the end of the line with what we call a dropper knot. We'll make a little dropper knot right here for the lead, come over here like this so we have a little, a little loop which is really nice and the line doesn't really weaken the strength of the line at all and then we have our lead right here and then we'll clip our lead right on to the existing line, o'kay? The reason why we do this is when the fish comes up to the boat we can unsnap this, put it on the side and then we can reel everything up right into the rod right into the reel and then we've got our hook right here ready to go. Another way to tie lead on a fishing line is having the lead on the bottom where we had it on the top before now we're going to put it on the bottom. What you want to do is just get a snap swivel, tie your knot on the snap swivel here, go up and over like that, make sure you wet it, use a real heavy duty snap swivel so it doesn't break, o'kay? Now we've got the snap swivel opened up and we've got our lead right here, put the lead in there, the snap swivel goes through the eye, let's close it back up. Now you've got your lead on the bottom and just make sure that the lead is away from the hooks so you'll put the hooks up here. So you've got your hooks, hooks, hooks and the lead down here. This is a good bottom rig for snappers, groupers, stuff like that. Now you have seen both different types of leads. This lead is on the bottom of the rig. This is for deep deep water where fish are predominantly on the bottom and then you've got your other one, your breakaway which is attached to your line. This will come off the line when you get the fish up, they are both great ways to fish on the bottom. I'm Mark the Shark. Thanks for watching."
