TREASURE COAST FISHING NEW UPDATE REPORT

TREASURE COAST FISHING NEW UPDATE REPORT

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY

Anglers are catching a variety of fish in the Sebastian Inlet. Bluefish are still dominating the action, but there were some sheepshead, black drum, redfish, flounder and both small and keeper pompano too. Trout action has been good in the Indian River with much of the bite coming south of Vero Beach. Look for both redfish and trout in 3 to 4 feet of water with soft plastic baits and live shrimp being the baits of choice.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY

Jayson Arman of Billy Bone's Bait and Tackle reports good trout action in the Indian River. Action is good on the west side of the river north of Midway Road, and on the east side north of Little Mud Creek. Arman recommends working 4-inch Bass Assassin sea shads in 3 feet of water. The color of choice has been chartreuse woodpecker. According to Arman, down-sizing your leader will increase catch totals in the really clear water.

MARTIN COUNTY

Billy Bone's Bait and Tackle's Jayson Arman also reports sheepshead biting under the deeper docks in the St. Lucie River. Overall pompano action has been hit or miss, and there are more bluefish and ladyfish around than any angler could ever want to catch. The beach is holding a mixture of bluefish, whiting, pompano and a few Spanish mackerel. Big spoons and cut baits work for the toothier fish, while clams and frozen shrimp for well for everything else.

LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Anglers continue to report increased action on Lake Okeechobee. The water is starting to clean up which is making things easier for anglers working the North Shore. Anglers are again working the outside grass edges with a variety of soft plastic creature baits. Speck action is also still good. Anglers are working the waters of the Kissimmee River, as well at the deeper waters near Nubbin's Slough and Indian Prairie.
