Mubarak holed up in luxurious Sharm el Sheik
SHARM EL SHEIK, Egypt -- A large sign greets tourists flying into this sparkling resort town, welcoming them to the "City of Peace," but with the face of Hosni Mubarak hastily scratched out beneath.
The beachside town, made famous for its world-class diving and its five-star resorts, has perhaps become the final retreat of the ousted 82-year-old president.
It was Mubarak who championed the building of Sharm el Sheik, a once sleepy fishing village on the Red Sea at the tip of Sinai peninsula which Israel returned to Egypt under a 1979 peace treaty.
He used it as a showcase of the "New Egypt," and held peace talks and business summits at the palatial villa and conference center he keeps here.
Sharm is also where Mubarak is believed to have stored much of his wealth. He owns several homes in the area, but is believed by residents to be staying on the outskirts of the Maritim Jolie Ville Golf & Resort.
While Egyptians ranging from Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq to local military officers manning checkpoints said they're sure that Mubarak is in Sharm, he's yet to be sighted. On other occasions, he was seen arriving, leaving and driving about.

U.S. Scientists Discover New Fish Species
WASHINGTON - U.S. investigators have examined three species of fish called 'Blenny' and say that they find what they're looking at 10 different species.
Scientists from the Smithsonian Institute said that Blenny fish that live in clusters of coral in the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific ocean, very little is known information. Similarly, as quoted from UPI.com, Wednesday (09/02/2011). Scientists say that the classification of three species of fish previously Blenny opposed to study fish DNA, from larva to adulthood, finally managed to uncover the seven species that have not been classified.
"DNA analysis has offered science a source to answer old questions," says Carole Baldwin, a zoologist at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

abu garcia cardinal 501 alb
ALB stands for Aluminum Body. Made from Aluminum, this reel is very light, hardly noticeable after a long day on the water. It weighs about 9 and 1/2 ounces. Unlike most "lightweight" things, this reel is strong and durable. I am a bass tournament fisherman. I mostly use baitcasting reels for Spinnerbaits and crankbaits but for light lures and lures that need a little more finesse, I use spinning reels. Baitcasters are very tough to use on windy days. A strong gust of wind can cause a backlash in a baitcaster that resembles a rats nest. It is next to impossible to get a rats nest in a spinning reel. They are very simple to use. Read More ...

TREASURE COAST FISHING NEW UPDATE REPORT
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
Anglers are catching a variety of fish in the Sebastian Inlet. Bluefish are still dominating the action, but there were some sheepshead, black drum, redfish, flounder and both small and keeper pompano too. Trout action has been good in the Indian River with much of the bite coming south of Vero Beach. Look for both redfish and trout in 3 to 4 feet of water with soft plastic baits and live shrimp being the baits of choice.
ST. LUCIE COUNTY
Jayson Arman of Billy Bone's Bait and Tackle reports good trout action in the Indian River. Action is good on the west side of the river north of Midway Road, and on the east side north of Little Mud Creek. Arman recommends working 4-inch Bass Assassin sea shads in 3 feet of water. The color of choice has been chartreuse woodpecker. According to Arman, down-sizing your leader will increase catch totals in the really clear water.

New Zealand's UFO files released News
The object moved with the plane as it flew off the coast of Kaikoura in 1978, moving away when the plane headed directly for it, and then disappearing after being witnessed for over 12 minutes. It was described as extremely bright, flashing and elliptical - difficult to explain away as "conventional phenomenon".
Thousands of secret files on alleged UFO sightings from 1952 to 2009 were released by the Defence Force today, including sightings by members of the public and military personnel, as well as investigations by Government departments and agencies, media reports and letters from people claiming to be in touch with aliens and space ships.
Among the files is the official report - What Really Happened in New Zealand by Dr Bruce Maccabee, for the NZ UFO Studies Centre - into the Kaikoura sightings.
The report does not try to explain what the object was, but concludes that it was hard to explain some sort of "conventional phenomenon".
The report relied on eight witnesses, including Christchurch reporter Dennis Grant, who was the only one who took notes during the sightings, and a film that proved to be "a veritable tour de force of UFO images".
"The film contains pictures of airport lights, pictures of the airplane cockpit pictures of (Australian reporter) Quentin Fogarty at Christchurch Airport, and pictures of .... UFOs," the report says.
Evidence showed that the film was continuous footage from inside the aircraft. "Thus the film is not a hoax."
The report said the object, whatever it was, was never closer than 16kms to the aircraft while it was being filmed, though Mr Fogarty "remembers looking almost straight down on the object ... and the captain is quite certain that the plane passed over it."
The night of December 30, 1978, was meant to be just a regular run from Blenheim to Wellington to Christchurch and back to Blenheim to drop off some newspapers.

The 58-year-old former KGB chief stunned an audience at a charity event on Friday that included Sharon Stone and Kevin Costner with his rendition of Blueberry Hill。
‘Like an overwhelming majority of people, I can neither sing nor play but I very much like doing it,’ he said modestly after being urged by the event’s host to get up on stage and perform. After playing the opening notes to the Fats Domino hit on the piano, he stepped up to the microphone and sang。
Putin, described as ‘alpha-dog’ in diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks, is reported to have sung patriotic songs to a group of Russian agents after they were expelled from America in July. But before Friday’s show in St Petersburg, his musical prowess had not been noted。

in EU fish talks....No clear winners
He emerged from two days of negotiations in Brussels insisting: "I have been fighting hard to protect the livelihoods of our fishermen both now and in the long-term, but what we need is a new CFP so we can better manage our fish stocks and ensure the industry is sustainable."
Ministers bartering over the share-out of limited fish stocks were faced with European Commission recommendations for drastic cutbacks in the name of conservation, including reductions of up to 50% for cod and herring off the west of Scotland, 25% cuts in Irish Sea whiting and west of Scotland haddock, and 20% cuts in Irish Sea sole.
But there were also increases for stocks showing signs of recovery, such as a 30% rise in herring caches off south-east Ireland and a 25% increase for Bristol Channel sole. Overall, beleaguered fleets which have faced years of belt-tightening on the basis of grim scientific evidence about dwindling stocks, faced average reductions across the board of 10%.
Scots fishing leaders in the dark over Brussels quota talks
There was no hard news for them to dissect, as the machinery of Brussels policymaking worked on the catching rules for next year.
With the discussions taking place in private, it was unclear if the UK negotiating team was making progress on saving parts of the country’s fishing industry from further quota cuts.
Scottish Fisheries Secretary Richard Lochhead went into the talks, which started on Monday, confident that Scots cod conservation efforts would carry some weight during the annual scrap over the next year’s fishing rights.
The European Commission (EC) had already proposed another round of swingeing quota cuts, including reductions for North Sea prawns and monkfish of 9% and 15% respectively.
Scotland’s west coast fleet was facing a 50% cut in its annual cod and whiting quotas, a 25% cut for haddock and 15% cuts for prawns and monkfish.

piranha fish get turkey as festive gift
A shoal of piranhas are getting a festive gift in the shape of turkey dinners in the run-up to Christmas Day.Despite their reputation as ferocious killers, piranhas are usually relatively timid fish, although feeding frenzies have been reported when large numbers come together.
Blue Reef curator Dan de Castro said: "When I used to work in Madrid we often fed our piranhas chicken so I thought that - with Christmas so close - it would be nice to give the fish something a little special with a festive flavour.
