Most dolphin are averaging 8 to 12 pounds with an occasional 20-plus pounder being caught. Bluefish, jacks, Spanish mackerel and a few pompano are being caught off the beaches from Lake Worth to Lantana Beach. Mangrove snapper and sandperch continue to hit live and frozen shrimp along the seawall.
St. Lucie County
Guide Mark Dravo reports spotted seatrout have been a little tough to entice, but with water so clear, the trout are easy to spook. Snook and redfish can be found along the mangrove shore line early in the morning hitting live shrimp and soft plastic jerkbaits with 1/4 ounce jig heads. Bluefish and Spanish mackerel are hitting spoons and jigs along the beach and even further off-shore. Kingfish and dolphin are showing up along with some nice bait schools. Look for the bait outside the Fort Pierce Inlet in 80 feet.

Spotted seatrout up to 5 pounds and slot size redfish are hitting on the east and west bank of the Indian River. Use small plastic jerkbaits in 3 to 4 inch, D.O.A. Baitbuster or Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows to entice a strike. Bluefish and large jacks are being caught off the Jensen Causeway on jigs and cut bait.
Freshwater Lakes
Lake Ida and Osborne chain have been full of small bass around most of the lakes edges. Bass are hitting on live shad and shiners among grass beds and vegetation where the water clarity is better. Sunshine bass are being caught on live shad around area bridges and deeper holes throughout the Ida and Osborne chain with Rat-L-Traps and small crankbaits working for artificial baits.
